Jammu and Kashmir Events
Jammu and Kashmir celebrate special events, fairs and festivals with full zeal. Special fairs and cultural events are organized in the state of Jammu and Kashmir. During these occasions immense numbers of sporting events, handicraft fairs, and cultural heritage of the region are show cased. Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh are the three regions which are earmarked by sporting as well religious festivals. During the months of November to February, Skiing competitions are organized in Gulmarg. Similarly, trekking, paragliding and rock climbing are planned by the sporting clubs in this region. Besides this, during the festivity season, people could be seen smiling and celebrating the eve. Basant Panchami, Eid, Shab-i-Mairaj, Lohri and Kheer bhavani are some special occasions, when smiles could be seen on every face. People exchange sweets, cook special delicacies and shop to get special bargains.
Jhiri Mela, Raghunath Bazaar Festival, 2 days snow festival and Maha Shivratri Festival are celebrated with full enthusiasm. The visitors specially throng to Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh to splurge themselves in the element of elation and thrill.
