The pilgrims wish to visit the Amarnath Shrine they have to first fill up the registration form. These registration forms can be availed from Jammu and Kashmir bank, Yes Bank and Bihar State Cooperative Bank. These registration forms are available at RS 15 . After submission of these forms, original travel permit is issued to the aspiring pilgrims. The registration is done on the basis of first come first basis. In 2011, the registration process got started from 10th May 2011. Earlier there were around 121 branches of the banks where registration commenced but later it was increased to 149.

Handwritten/ Off Line Process for Filling Amarnath Registration Form

The Yatris who are filling the form through an off line process may get vague response or it may show some error. If the Yatris are filling the Yatra form through an online or off line process, there are chances that they may get some technical problem. In that case, the pilgrims can also fill the handwritten Yatra which can be submitted manually. The registration Yatra form consists of :

  • Full Name column written in bold captions. The aspiring Yatris have to fill their name with the permanent ink pen.
  • He has to affix the recent pass port sized photograph on the space provided; right hand side of the form.
  • The other empty blanks under it consist of  initials in which the Yatris have to fill the Gender, Name of the spouse/ father, State, E-mail ID, Pin Code, Contact information, Mobile Number, and Telephone in case of emergency.
  • The next part of the form consists of a declaration by an aspirant. In this declaration addressed to the chief executive officer, some terms and conditions are set by the government. Under those conditions there is a separate blank for the signature mentioned at the end.
  • The first line of the declaration requires to be filled with proper starting date of the Yatra and the day you will perform Darshan.
  • The second clause consists of the testimony which says that the aspiring Yatri/trekker is not suffering from any cardiac problem or some chronic disease. The pilgrims are informed about the maximum height of the Amarnath cave which is 14000 ft. The Yatris have to affirm the truth that the trek will be an arduous task.
  • The third clause in the same form consists of the nomination declaration, in which the nominees of the insurance are described, in case if there is any miss happening, accident or either of them.
  • Fourth clause of the from confirm that Yatri will abide by all rules, terms and Do;s and Don’ts set by the SASB on the reverse of the Yatra permit.
  • A duly registered Yatri with a valid Yatra Permit issued by the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board, duly endorsed by the issuing Bank, will be entitled to an Insurance cover of Rupees One Lac from M/s New India Assurance Co. Ltd in the event of his/her death due to an accident inside the State of J&K while undertaking the Shri Amarnathji Yatra. The sum assured will be paid through the SASB after completion of necessary formalities.
  • After the full payment and mentioning of all the details, the Yatris will be provided with the registration slip carrying the signature of registration officer, date and route issued.
